Focus Areas for RE:Connect
A key focus for this project has been an innovative Teacher Fellowship programme which has run for two cohorts (2021-2022 and 2023-2024). Teacher alumnus from the programe include both primary and secondary teachers from across England and Wales. Fellows work together with experts in the field to deepen their subject knowledge and work together to create new resources for RE.
Project work has included:- A survey of teachers of RE in 2021, hearing their views on what part environmental concerns currently play in RE/Religions and Worldviews, and how this might be expanded in future.
- Classroom tested curriculum projects which are freely available for other teachers to use.
- Curriculum projects are all taken through a dissemination phase in which new resources are pilot-tested and fellowship programme participants are supported to become ambassadors for further work in this field.
